Found a table at my school with a whole bunch of old PCs being given away for free. Picked up one that was tested for Windows 98 four years ago. Not bad. Hopefully I can get it running!

Nice! I need to find me an old AT Power Supply to use a test bench power supply...my old one died a honorable death when I touched the wrong two wires together while it was turned on...

What do you do with them?
I found a dual core dell i put some ram in and it works perfect even has some kind of good OS. Bonus was some photos left on it of some salon girls putting on bras over their shirts and being dumb.

I wanted to make a cheapo game pc or something else I dont know what. I got it so cheap and I dont know if it is worth very much.

If only I had a CNC plasma cutter that desperately needed a PC to run it.

It’s because they practically have negative value (the cost of moving them is higher than their intrinsic value). They might be recyclable, that’s about it. If they last another 2-3 decades, they might be suitable for a museum. Some do slap new guts in them for the retro look, too.

If you just want a computer, you could buy a “compute stick” that could run circles around this for $100-200, including the operating system.
